Hi...  Here's the background -- I am considering putting together a cheap computer to put next to the stereo, so I can output mp3s on a (relatively) decent sound system.  Unfortunately, the stereo is in a separate room from the computer, so unless I string cables around, or buy another large hd (which I can't really afford) a network is the best option (I think).  The Passport device seems perfect, as there are no wires, etc, and it'll have a network quick enough for mp3 play, I believe.  I am planning on putting linux on this system, both for the quicker-than-windows boot times, and the higher stability.  The only problem is that I've never really used linux before (well, I've used it, but never tried to maintain or install it... Just for things like programming at school and whatnot...)  I plan on getting a copy of RedHat, and just seeing what happens.  To make a long story short, is it feasible that I (not having used Linux before) will be able to install the drivers and whatever else I need for Passport to work on a linux system?  Or is this solely for more experienced people?

Thanks for your help (and if this didn't make sense, please let me know...I didn't get much sleep...)

Setting up the network isn't hard. If you can type "make", you can build the project. The only other thing you need to do is change the IP address in the load script. Have fun.
