UPnP is a messaging protocol that is OS independent. All devices or
services that can communicate with TCP/IP, HTTP and SOAP can use it.
It was created by big companies like Microsoft and Intel.

The
good thing of this standard is that the a control point can automatically
get notified if a system setting will be changed.
