This release now adds portability support to work with FreeBSD and other operating systems. Solaris is still unsupported, but most should work now. No other features are added or any bugs fixxed.

New features include security enhancements to drop root privlidges. This has always been possible as a compile time option, Now its configurable in the configuration file. Other minor enhancements. Work on the new branch (support for Smart-UPS) will begin soon.

Thanks to the bug reports and configurations sent to me, I feel that powerd can be called stable. It has been used on many machines, and is working. Work will now be focused on supporting APC Smart-UPS models, and fixing any potential bugs in 2.0.0
