no, Potrace does not have centerline tracing at the moment. I might add it in the future, but that would be the very distant future. For now, it is beyond the scope of Potrace. -- Peter

Can Potrace create centerlines instead of enclosed areas?
This would be useful for making svg maps. A road would be traced as a line instead of a skinny rectangle.
Autotrace has this feature. (http://autotrace.sourceforge.net/)
