Yes, you can configure slaves for GTM, coordinator and datanode.
Also, you can configure GTM, coordinator and datanode on the same
server.   http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/postgres-xc/index.php?title=PGOpen2013_Postgres_Open_2013
has a link to the presentation material in the last Postgres Open.
Material includes presentation slide deck, configuration file I used
for the demo, script file for the demo, and the link to my
presentation video.
