I've never touched XC, but I'm considering a HA/postgresql solution. XC docs indicate it provides the benefit of multi-master writes which is very attractive. I would want to have the data replicated to all the datanodes to guard services against node failure. Is this considered a production safe design or are adopters generally using a partitioning configuration? I scanned http://wiki.postgresql.org/images/4/44/Pgxc_HA_20121024.pdf and I'm gathering resources for a trial run. Can this be demonstrated well enough in three VM nodes: 1. GTM; 2. GTM proxy, cooridinator, datanode; 3. GTM proxy, cooridinator, datanode. I get the impression that many more nodes are really ideal for a complete HA solution What would be the base starting point suggested? Maybe there is a cookbook I've not seen. Thanks, Ray |
