Hello,

just to keep you up to date:

I have updated the baseclass and filled it with some code (by splitting 
fetchmail.php). I also created a class for fetchmail as a first 
example.

The two files are attached. Be warned that the code is completely 
untested and still is not as abstract as it should be at many places. 
However, you should get the point.
