I've just added quite a few postcodes / postal addresses from my Google contacts. These are all addresses created by me from friends.

If you could create a tool to import addresses from Google Contacts it would be useful. You shoould be clear legally. If you're unsure then mark all data captured via this method so you can later delete it etc.

Another method is to write a web spider that captures postal addresses from websites. This is legal becaue this data is in the public domain. The advantage of this second method is that it will be fairly up to date.
