[Post-nuke-users] Installation Problem

hello fellas...

when I try to install postnuke.. I've encountered an error for the
database... it's from the usage of the newinstall.php

i got this error

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_pconnect() in
/var/www/html/nuke/install/newinstall.php on line 36

that's the error that I've got..

I got installed it in a Redhat 7.2 machine with PHP 4.0.6 and Mysql 3.23.41

hope that someone could overlook on my problem..
