Can anyone one the core team summarise the position on NukePac?

I've read posts on postnuke.com and the NukePac site all of which ask 
interesting questions, but there are no real answers...

NP seems to have been re-architected to use modules and 'CrossNuke' 
which centralises all the evil hacks to the PM core into one place...

I got the impression from the posts I read, that NP's author is keen to 
  support PHP-Nuke (and others) and not-at-all keen to put effort into 
'clean' integration with PN.

Would the PN team entertain the idea of integrating 'CrossNuke' into PN 
so we can use the NP features without creating compatability issues?
