Folks, I have a functioning PoPToP installation which works when talking to RedHat, Windows 2K, Mac OSX, et al., without a hitch. But I have a user who wants to use a Pocket PC to talk to my PoPToP server. Consistently I see the following sort of errors in /var/log/messages: >Sep 26 18:08:06 polaris pptpd[19851]: CTRL: Client 216.155.166.225 control >connection started >Sep 26 18:08:07 polaris pptpd[19851]: CTRL: Starting call (launching pppd, >opening GRE) >Sep 26 18:08:07 polaris pppd[19852]: pppd 2.4.1 started by root, uid 0 >Sep 26 18:08:07 polaris pppd[19852]: Using interface ppp1 >Sep 26 18:08:07 polaris pppd[19852]: Connect: ppp1 <--> /dev/pts/4 >Sep 26 18:08:07 polaris /etc/hotplug/net.agent: assuming ppp1 is already up >Sep 26 18:08:08 polaris pptpd[19851]: GRE: Discarding duplicate packet >Sep 26 18:08:37 polaris pppd[19852]: LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests >Sep 26 18:08:37 polaris pppd[19852]: Connection terminated. >Sep 26 18:08:37 polaris pppd[19852]: Exit. >Sep 26 18:08:37 polaris pptpd[19851]: GRE: >read(fd=5,buffer=804d9c0,len=8196) from PTY failed: status = -1 error = >Input/output error >Sep 26 18:08:37 polaris pptpd[19851]: CTRL: PTY read or GRE write failed >(pty,gre)=(5,6) >Sep 26 18:08:37 polaris pptpd[19851]: CTRL: Client 216.155.166.225 control >connection finished >Sep 26 18:08:37 polaris /etc/hotplug/net.agent: NET unregister event not >supported >Sep 26 18:08:50 polaris sshd(pam_unix)[19872]: session opened for user >root by (uid=0) FWIW, my options.pptpd file looks like: >## CHANGE TO SUIT YOUR SYSTEM >lock > >## turn pppd syslog debugging on >#debug > >## change 'pptpd' to whatever you specify as your server name in chap-secrets >name pptpd > >proxyarp > ># This option applies if you use ppp with chapms-strip-domain patch >#chapms-strip-domain > >#+chap ># These options apply if you use ppp with mppe patch ># NB!
