This is referring to my post "silly idea" on the help forum.
It worked. I just wrote a python daemon that works like poprelayd, but without the hassle of different dblib-versions for perl and sendmail. This daemon does not use any db functions to produce popip.db, but simply writes the ips to a textfile and calls makemap.
I will not post it here until I am really sure it works, and if it is secure enough though. So please:
If you know about any problems that might occur using my approach please let me know.

The poprelayd in python can also be downloaded at http://zmi.at/linuxstuff/poprelayd/ . Should any of you know python, there's some small improvements I would like to have, but I don't know python really, I just made Negg's version a bit "nicer".

The poprelayd in python can also be downloaded at http://zmi.at/linuxstuff/poprelayd/ . Should any of you know python, there's some small improvements I would like to have, but I don't know python really, I just made Negg's version a bit "nicer".
