#4 Use File::Tail Module?
The version of poprelay.pl at http://www.spack.org/geek/poprelayd.pl.txt uses the File::Tail module, which is allegedly cleaner and better than the current method of tailing a file. We need to evaluate whether poprelayd should be changed to use this. (Does this module come with perl? If not, one disadvantage would be that it's another thing to download and install.)
it does make the code a lot smaller and cleaner. we did some checking around an it appears that File::Tail is now a standard part of perl.
there were some other cleaned up bits we did as well which you may or may not be interested in.
