#4 POPFile for Mac installation problems

I have downloaded the latest version of POPFile (Non-Windows) as well as
the detailed instructions for installation. However, part the way through I
get stuck as the installation instructions are not recognizable. This is step
4.4 installing the Perl modules.

I have carried out all the preceding steps successfully, including the
installation of XCode 2.3, Wget, SQL-Lite, setting ftp passive and starting
the CPAN shell.

With the CPAN prompt none of the install commands are recognized. Can
you advise what I need to do to get these installations to work? If not I
guess I will have to wait for the nicer installation module to be ready.
