I think it would be useful to have a comment field for the
magnets.
For example, I could tag my magnet for m0.net
as "Palm Developers mailing list." I'd also be able to
remember why I added a o.vresp.com magnet...

I strongly agree with this. It doesn't seem like it would be too
hard and there isn't currently a lack of horizontal space on the
Magnets page.
Comments are especially critical in a domain-wide deployment
of POPFile. In my setup I get requests almost every day for
additional magnets.
I'd also propose that there be different categories of magnets.
This wouldn't effect POPFile at all, it would just be for display.
There could be an employee's family section, a vendor section,
a client section, a mailing list section, a newletter section,
etc.
