I can't find any documents on how to run POPFile as a Service on Windows.
I'm using Windows 2003 Server Standard R2.
There appears to be no modern documents on this subject that I can find. Why is this?
I see within popfile is a file called popfile-service.exe but appears to be undocumented!
Surely its not still using the srvany.exe file?
The roadmap graph of development of this program seems to end at 2003!
Ok, I've found an 'experimental' page which talks about it.
But now I've got it as a Service (using a admin robot account) how does one get the POPFile icon to appear in the System Tray when I login?
I tried adding '--set windows_tray=1' to the parameters field in the Service but it still doesn't appear.
The show icon option within the POPFile web Configuration page doesn't appear to work.
As this is a valuable 24/7 service I really need to see the icon in the system tray.
Also this popfile-service.exe appears to have a serious flaw.
Everytime I logout, the POPFILE service stops!
