I finally bought that Mac, and I'm writing this from inside Firefox on a MacBook Pro. I've installed VMWare Fusion so that I can still develop on Linux and on Windows.
So, it's time to work on that nice Mac version of POPFile, and I think the best way is going to be a PerlApp wrapped exectuable with everything in it. Since the Mac uses a 'drag to Applications' paradigm for installs I think a single (large) executable is going to be the way to go.

more and more applications use drag-and-drop installation in MacOS X.
additionally, PopfileMgr, developed by Japanese developer uses this way of installations. http://irodori.sakura.ne.jp/products/popfilemgr.xhtml
