I've upgrade from v0.22.5 to v1.0.0 RC1 on Windows XP and Mac OS X 10.5(Leopard) PowerPC.
both environment uses POP3 (no IMAP) and 'bayes_nihongo_parser' set to internal.
Both of them are working well.
I'm very glad to hear POPFile will be version 1.0.0!
