Its actually pretty difficult to track down a paper by PMID

Say I wan tot search for PMID:24758716

I could go here

http://curation.pombase.org/pombe/tools/pubmed_id_start

but if a session already exists I get
can't create new session - a session already exists for: PMID:24758716

and if it doesn't exist I have to assign it to myself and then reassign it to a person

I can also go
to All publications and search on PMID but this takes ~ 2 minutes to load

Its not so bad If I know which subset a paper is in because I can go straight there, and the shorter list take less time to search

As a quick fix you can go to a particular publication using a URL like:
    http://curation.pombase.org/pombe/view/object/pub/PMID:8782411?model=track

Usually the URLs of publication pages have an obscure internal ID, like "6881" here:
    http://curation.pombase.org/pombe/view/object/pub/6881?model=track
but that ID can be replaced with the pubmed ID.

These URLs weren't completely implemented until today so I hadn't advertised the functionality.

That's just a workaround though. I agree it would be good to have a proper search box somewhere. Let me know which page (and where on the page) you think would be appropriate.

Yeah, I have this page bookmarked (in the bookmark toolbar so I can quickly click on it):
    http://curation.pombase.org/pombe/view/object/pub/PMID:?model=track

then I can just paste in the PMID number after "PMID:"
