I posted a version of this on the main message forum to see if
anyone else was having problems similar to mine. I am now
posting the information pertaining to the bug here...
I have been having the drawer disappear, or apear behind the main
window since version 0.494. Now the drawer does not entirely
disappear, instead it falls behind the main window, often with only
a slight edge of the drawer showing. Toggling on and off the
drawer button makes the drawer move in and out - yet it stays
behind the main application window. Sometimes the drawer will
appear disconnected and several inches separate from the main
window. When this happens the drawer buttons listing previous
searches often become unresponsive, however the rest of the app
will continue to function normally. The only way to resolve the
problem is to restart the program.
This has been happening on both of my Mac's, one is a dual 500
mhz G4 Powermac Gigabit Ethernet, and the other is a 12 inch G4
Powerbook. This has happened to both of the systems, and both
are currently running OS X 10.3.5, and have also run OS X 10.2.8
in the past when these problems have happened. This has
occurred at different times on both computers running all the
versions of Poisoned up from 0.494 I finally decided to document
this problem here because of the latest occurrence on a computer
with new drives and a fresh install. I run the basic fare of
applications such as Office, Photoshop, Camino, BBedit, etc... I do
not use any programs that change the GUI like Window Shade, or
anything...
Again, I have run all updates and have repaired file permissions. I
have also tried trashing poisoned prefs - no luck. The most recent
occurence was brought on after clicking that tiny rectangular
rounded button on the upper right hand side of the window. It
collapsed the menu bar and hid the drawer (as I imagine it is
supposed to) however when I clicked the button again the menu
bar reappeared, but the drawer never reappeared in the proper
position.
