#1 Is a split needed to get support?

There is a long discussion on forums.postnuke.com about
the extended downtimes of www.pnphpbb.com and lack of
support for this package.

We are to the point where we are talking about creating
a split and trying to put together a new team. Can any
of the current admins drop by and add your two cents?

We really do not want to reinvent the wheel if we don't
have to, but the fact that the current release is one
year old and that new users can't find the needed
security patches, because the support server is down,
makes this a critical issue for some.
