    Thanks.

How is building of the format of "creation=" (example:
    creation=DA070700060003000B002E002B00CB0101 ( = 2010.07.03 ) ) in the file
"notes.pnid". Why?: I want to edit the creation date of older notes manualy.

Is it possible for you, to put a small commandline program out here, that put
out the "creation=..." line to stdout, when it gets a given date as parameter?

I don't plan to to do it, but you can easily create such helper by yourself:
GetPrivateProfileStructW and WritePrivateProfileStructW are actually the only
functions you need to deal with that field (this is SYSTEMTIME structure).

In archiv PNotesSource_8_0_110.zip i found the words
    "GetPrivateProfileStructW" and "WritePrivateProfileStructW" in the
    files controlpanel.c, diary.c, groups.c, main.c, memorynotes.c, note.c,
    overdue.c, print.c, shared.c, sockets.c and sync.c . In what file they are
    defined?

    :)
Windows.h - they are Windows API functions, not mine.

Hi, been a long time lover of PNotes.... been using 6.5.110 for quite some
time, so was excited to try upgrading to 8.0 to try out all of the new
features.... Was happy to see my old notes still opened (tho my shortcuts are
gone apparently), but the big issue I found right off the bat was that there's
no scoll bar!! I tend to have long notes, and obviously want to be able to
scroll (using the mouse or dragging the bar slider) and see where I am in the
note... (Cursor based scrolling seems to work fwiw.) I hope this is just a
(short term) bug, and not a new "feature"?!?

PS: Is it worth trying to use 7.5 instead, or am I going to have the same
problem. If so, looks like I need to still w/ 6.5 for the foreseeable
    future... sigh...

    Thx,
    - R

Hi, again... Sorry, disregard the previous message... Low and behold, in
Preferences, there's an option to show scrollbar!... Go figure!... Guessing
someone actually requested this option...? (You're very kind... :))

Hi, again... Very nice improvements since version 6.5!... Was worried that a
great tool may have become "bloated" with too many options/features, but don't
find that to be the case at all. Great job!...

One thing I found to be a "regression" tho... In 6.5, the short cut for "Show
All" would also "bring to front" and as well as "unhide"... Appears now that
it only unhides, so the only way for me to show all notes is first to hide
all, then show all - 2 short cuts needed - which I could do with one before...
(Actually, I think you fixed this issue for me before in the earlier release.)
Fwiw, this behavior is also inconsistent with Show Favorites - which will
"bring to front" and "unhide". So, would be great of Show All would work this
way again in the next release.

    Thx!

    Hi,
It's very strange, but when I check this behavior, it works as you have
written in version 8.0, but it works AS NEEDED in version 8.5 (that I'm
currently developing). In spite of I didn't change the code.

Two issues; - If I change fontsize for title in a note, the titlesize
doesn´t adjust. This makes the text go outside(not seen) of the title. And I
can´t find any setting for titlesize, just notesize. Maybe I am missing
something, but I have searched all over the settings and can´t find solution.
    - If I change the settings for how many backups to make of the notes(in
Settings-->Protection) it´s always set to "3". If I change it to any other
number, it reverts back if I close Pnotes and restart it. Is this a bug?
Thanks for a great app. I really like this program, and appriciate the
    developement. Regards, FireWire

Sorry for doubleposting this, but maybe you want to know this 2 issues for
your next version, if they are bugs, I can´t tell.

    Thanks for the good work.

If I change the settings for how many backups to make of the notes(in

Confirm, this is a bug, should be fixed in next version

If I change fontsize for title in a note, the titlesize doesn´t adjust

This is normal program's behavior. The height of note's caption is set to
standard system caption height. May be in next version I will add ability for
    dynamic change.
    Thank you!

Thanks for the fast reply. Impressed.
Hope you allow resize or even better autoresize(adapted to fontsize) for note
title in next version. That would be really nice.

Thanks for your effort with this.

Of course it should be autoresize. But only for fonts that are too large for
standard height. Caption height for smaller fonts will remain standard.

    Congratulations!
    Some questions:
    1. Why the program size is so large? How can one dialog be 1.6 Mb?
    2. Why the "Set" button is always enabled? Even if the text box is empty? And what happens when you press "Set" while text box is empty?
    3. Why not to let user to choose note by standard dialog, instead of writing note's name in text box?

Because an option is missing within PNote to find out the note IDs (could be
realized for example as a column in control panel or as a point in the
contextmenu of the notes), the way to set the creation datetime of notes has
    to be the following:

    • remember (or copy) a usefull part of the text of a note you want to set the
      creation datetime (within PNote).
    • paste (or write manually) this piece of text to an external search tool
    • search for the note with this text in notes folder and find the file (=ID).
If more than one file is found, select the right file (=ID) manualy).
    • copy the found filename (=ID) to clipboard (the most search tools give
the opportunity to do this easily)
    • Now the first step (of 6 steps) with SetCreationDatetimePNote.exe is:
Paste the found filename (=ID) directly to editbox of
SetCreationDatetimePNote.exe. This is much more easier than selecting the
ID from a (long) listbox list within SetCreationDatetimePNote.exe
    • "Set" the creation datetime with SetCreationDatetimePNote.exe

Program SetCreationDatetimePNote.exe is quick and dirty. It takes 5 minutes
to write it and an additional one hour to update 100 of my notes, which have
in my case no creation datetime.

Your question about having a listbox of all note-IDs (instead of an Editbox)
illustrates, that you do not think about the real process of setting creating
datetime without PNotes. This is ugly, because it would be only a very small
step to implement a SetCreationDatetime option within PNotes instead of this
    external handling...
