My two monitors are not the same size (left monitor is smaller than right). Also, first (and primary) monitor is on the right, not left. Maybe that could help?

I also experience this issue. It does appear to be related to the monitor positions. I have three monitors. I experience this issue in my normal monitor configuration [2][1][3]. When a note is rolled/hidden on monitor [2] then it will appear on monitor [1] when unrolled/shown. This issue does not happen if the monitor order is changed to [1][2][3] or to [1][3][2].
It appears it is important that monitor [1] is the left-most monitor.
Unfortunately, I can't change my monitor order so I can't really use the roll or hide commands on a note on the 2nd monitor because they will be sent over to the 1st monitor when unrolled or shown.

Cannot confirm. Just tested on two monitors - note in both states (rolled and unrolled) stays on the second monitor.

The most probably this is the point - inverse order of monitors. Later I will check whether it's true.
