New PMVLinux website up AND a file ready to release

What a blowout! A new website and developer ISO image. The distribution installer is crap and patchy but it works, I have successfully installed PMVLinux onto a Compaq Prosignia 500 (SCSI, EISA) with only minimal problems (most caused by bugs in the installer which I fixed straight away).

I am busy adding new content to the website, and now I need to get a logo of some description.

I am busy trying to iron out "political" issues between the PMVLinux and PMVAdmin project, regarding their integration and consistency; We have around 4 months until Uni starts, so I hope to get some solid development done.

PMVLinux/PMVAdmin Website revamp

Both the PMVLinux and PMVAdmin websites are in the process of being updated in order to be of use during the development process. We have selected Drupal 4.6.3 as our content management system (because we are lazy and manual updating becomes a pain.)

As far as development on both PMVLinux and PMVAdmin go, it is pretty slow due to school exams, but after that (i.e. in the 3 months between now and Uni) we should get both projects released or near release.

Installer Progress

The installer is coming along nicely, it is written in sh using dialog, and is quite similar to the Slackware installer. Currently the disk partitioning works, as does the fstab creation (it took a while but it nicely lays out the file) and tonight I plan to complete the filesystem selection/formatting dialog. PMVLinux uses ReiserFS by default, and does not allow to create partitions in any other filesystem, although once I have a working installer I may add EXT3 support.

PMVLinux Project Started

Hello World!

After a few weeks of trying Sourceforge has approved the PMVLinux project. As the public description says it is a Linux server configured for networking to Windows Clients.

I am working very hard on getting it released soon, (school-work permitting). I have the base distribution in place and am working on getting a Web Admin system built.
