Using Mingw GCC 3.3, I receive the following error:
pngcrush.c:556:5: missing binary operator before token
"1000"

The command line arguments used don't seem to make a
difference.

If you put a #define CLOCKS_PER_SEC 1000 before that line
556 it will complain but it will build. Why it gives this
    error, I don't understand either.

It compiles without problems using MSVC.NET 2003 (see RFE
919288 for details), and the resulting files are smaller and
    faster.

    I had the same problem,
    just add a #undef CLOCKS_PER_SEC before #ifndef
CLOCKS_PER_SEC to get it work. (it seems that CLOCKS_PER_SEC
    = "1000" under MinGW)

I believe this was fixed, as "Nobody" suggested, in pngcrush-1.7.68.
