After PMD has been modularized with 5.2.0, the documentation should reflect this:

http://pmd.github.io/pmd-5.4.0/customizing/compiling.html

Also the readme files in the source code should be adjusted:
https://github.com/pmd/pmd/blob/master/README.md should have a short section, how to compile.

https://github.com/pmd/pmd/blob/master/pmd-core/ReadMe.txt can probably be deleted.
