pmcyg can create customized collections of Cygwin(TM) packages. pmcyg takes a user-supplied list of Cygwin package names, and downloads only them and their dependencies from a Cygwin mirror, e.g. to create a CDROM or DVD based off-line installer.

Please note that the filesystem layout of Cygwin mirror sites has changed recently, to support both x86 and x86_64 system architectures (on top of recent appearances of Unicode characters within the setup.ini file).
This change is not backwards-compatible with pmcyg, and affects all releases up to and including version 1.0 (Unicode support having appeared in pmcyg-1.0).
Full support for the multi-architecture capabilities of Cygwin was added within pmcyg-1.1.

Plans for pmcyg-2.0 are currently being developed, with the expectation that this will be based exclusively around Python-3.x. (Releases up to pmcyg-1.2 have been primarily developed under Python-2.5 to Python-2.7, with some support for Python-3.x via automatic translation using the "2to3" tool.).
