If you're new to Mapserver environment in general, please do *not* start directly with p.mapper. As the manual says, it "requires some knowledge of the MapServer environment in general. In particular, users should be familiar with map file creation and its configuration" And after getting to know Mapserver, read first the manual of p.mapper. In your case you will quite likely have to modify settings like extents, etc. armin -------- Original-Nachricht -------- Datum: Wed, 13 Dec 2006 12:35:22 +0100 Von: accakappa <acc...@gm...> An: pma...@li... yes, it's the better solution and I will change it. It remained like it is because I never have to deal with anything else than Latin1 or Unicode. The main reason to use utf8_encode was because it did not explicitly require libiconv installed as iconv functions did. But in fact, it IS required also for utf8_..code. So it makes no sense to use it. armin -------- Original-Nachricht -------- Datum: Wed, 13 Dec 2006 13:41:28 +0100 Von: "Gambin Dejan" <Dej...@pu...> An: pma...@li... Hi, May I ask if there is a special reason why iconv is not being used instead of utf8_encode for class names and description metadata? Since iconv is used in query.php anyway, I think it is better to using it because utf8_encode assumes the input string is in ISO-8859-1 (latin1) encoding so it doesn't work good if the class names/description metadata is written in different encoding.=20 I was thinking about using iconv, assuming that class names/description metadata encoding is the same as LAYER_ENCODING, so LAYER_ENCODING metadata parameter can be used as input character set. regards, dejan |

Grazie, Paolo. |

well, for any questions related to the GPL see here http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html The main reason why moving to GPL with p.mapper 3 was to have the possibility to use existing code from other GPL licensed software packages. The GPL does not apply to you anyway since v 2 was still licensed under a different license. armin Radhika wrote: > Hi Armin, > I have customized p.mapper2 code and want to make > my gis site live. Hi Armin, I have customized p.mapper2 code and want to make my gis site live. I have read GNU licence. Can you please suggest me what I need to do related to licence. I have already included that copyright notice which you have mentioned before every code. That's not a problem of p.mapper but of the resources of your server. If you have it in a shared environment with lots of others there might not be sufficient file descriptor resources available. Hi Armin, Pmapper2 demo application is working fine when I configured it locally. But after uploading on server sometimes after clicking the same link 3-4 times it is displaying the following error, I am confused because sometimes it is displaying correctly, but after clicking too many times from the same system or the another it is displaying the following error. Warning: main(incphp/group.php): failed to open stream: Too many open files in /home/mapxl/www/pmapper2/map.phtml on line 56 Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'incphp/group.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/mapxl/www/pmapper2/map.phtml on line 56. I'm using LINUX server. Is this problem related to server , server space ? Kindly help me to come out of this problem Thanks & Regards radhika. ----------------------------------------- NOTICE: This e-mail message including any attachment (collectively the "e-mail") may contain privileged and confidential information. what you are mentioning are not ERRORS, but NOTICES, starting like 'PHP Notice: ...'. Just set up the error_reporting in php.ini as described in the manual and you should get rid of this. I guess on your other system this was already done and hence no error reporting. toolBarOrientation is not existing any more and the definition has been moved to the map.phtml 'writebuttons($buttons, $toolbarTheme, "v")' v: vertical h: horizontal since one anyway has to put this call in the correct 'zone' that can be vertical or horizontal it made no sense for me any more to keep it in the config. Also it should allow in the future multiple toolbars. You can send me the the Spanish translation of the text strings just by mail. Thanks. Hello all I have found that pmapper does not run fedora core 5, I get the following errors: Uninitialized string offset: 0 in /var/www/html/app/incphp/init/initmap.ph= p on line 464 Uninitialized string offset: 1 in /var/www/html/app/incphp/init/initmap.ph= p on line 464 Undefined variable: jsReference in /var/www/html/app/incphp/init/init.php o= n line 99 PHP Notice: Undefined index: tocStyle in /var/www/html/app/map.phtml on line 80 [error] [client 127.0.0.1] File does not exist: /var/www/html/app/images/gto.png, referer: http://localhost/app/map.phtml those lines refers to a shape path variable. It seems that there is a problem with php5, because the same app runs on Centos 4 /php 4.3.9. Any clue how to fix that. Also in the confing.ini the variable toolBarOrientation is mising. I have also the translation to spanish, how I send you. Thanks. --=20 Nahum Castro Gonz=E1lez Le=F3n, Guanajuato, M=E9xico |

this is what I meant with slow DOM implementation. It's the same for zoombox etc, everything is less fluid than even with IE 6. I don't see what one can do for that except recommending another browser or buying a 5 GHz processor just to be able to browse JS driven sites... armin Eric Allard wrote: > Armin, >=20 > I just click on the zoom cursor, and start dragging it. Hi! The problem is when you call a Pmapper (map.phtml) within an Iframe!
