If you get serial overruns, then there's something wrong with your serial connection. plptools (old and new version) simply rely on the automatic RTS/CTS handling of the kernel's serial driver. The reason why this probably does not happen with plptools-0.6, is that the new version writes much faster to the tty. Regardless of that, the kernel _MUST_ handle RTS/CTS automatically correctly and block the application (or the remote-side), if it cannot handle more characters. Probably the RTS/CTS wire of your link cable is broken and you don't realized it with older plptools. Another reason can be, that you don't have a 16550 compatible serial chip on your board (those chips without FIFOs can't handle full 115200 baud). In that case, the only solution is to lower the speed or use a separate serial card with 16550 chip. Regarding NFS: This is a normal error when the serial line is weak. If NFS can't flush it's buffers in time, it creates more and more requests and finally prints those errors.
