 The PLplot library can't find the font files &lt;tt&gt;plstnd5.fnt&lt;/tt&gt; and &lt;tt&gt;plxtnd5.fnt&lt;/tt&gt;. Set the environment variable &lt;tt&gt;PLPLOT_LIB&lt;/tt&gt; to the directory where these files are, e.g. &lt;tt&gt;export PLPLOT_LIB=/usr/local/plplot/data&lt;/tt&gt;.
