I have just made some commits to change the install location to
$prefix/share/fortran/modules/plplot. A generic location in
/usr/share/fortran was recommended when I asked the question about the best
install location on the LFHS list. I stuck on modules to be more
informative, and plplot to distinguish our modules from others.
One brute force thing I did was to use @MODULESINCCMD@ (which configures to
-I$prefix/share/fortran/modules/plplot) in the fortran compile command in
examples/f95/Makefile.examples.in. This works now, but both the pkg-config
approach and plplot-config approach should be modified in future (post
release when I have more time unless someone wants to look into it now) to
emit @MODULESINCCMD@ in the fortran 95 case so that @MODULESINCCMD@ can be
dropped from examples/f95/Makefile.examples.in. This would also make life
simpler for users who are compiling their own fortran 95 code and using
our fortran 95 interface library and modules.
