Hi Arjen: One other symptom is that the configured wish_standard_examples script that is run by the test_wish_standard_examples target sometimes displays plots OK and sometimes loses them completely. For example, the build tree version of test_wish_standard_examples target didn't show plots a few days ago, but now does. Currently, the installed examples version does not show plots. I am virtually positive these intermittent plot display symptoms that occur for this target alone are the result of the same memory management issues that are causing the above segfault.
