I want to thank Andrew (Ross) for his recent efforts at this, especially all the new "make check" work and work on compiling and running the installed java examples. Everything (make, make check, make install, and compiling and running the installed examples) now seems to work well for open-java-sdk, the completely free java software development kit I have installed. The only fly in the ointment is the huge number of warnings (all of the same type, but one warning per PLplot command so there are a lot of them) put out by the jikes compiler for the examples. Andrew is trying to figure out the best way to change the code style to stop those warnings, but meanwhile, the plot results are fine. Alan __________________________ Alan W.
