#24 Bug report in misfiled support req. #1095299

Support Request #1095299 should have been filed as a
bug report. It seems to be slowly fading into the
archives. Briefly, I found a reproducible bug in
PLPLOT that occurs on a Linux platform (Red Hat
Enterprise Workstation 3.1) and not on Windows 2000. I
attached a zip file containing a short script to
reproduce the problem. The original post was entitled:
Plplotter (Plwindow.tcl) works on Windows 2000; crashes
on Linux.

I'm hoping that this submission will return the problem
to the foreground in the bug reports section.

I have been trying to reproduce it on my system, but sofar
build issues have hampered my attempts.
From the log report I see that the creation of the window
causes an X error, really odd, though I have seen similar
things happen before. Until I get a version of Plplotter
working on my Linux system, there is little I can do to help

I had trouble building PLPLOT on Linux also. In the zip
file that I attached to my original submission I included a
record of what I did to get PLPLOT working with Tcl/Tk.

I received a message on this issue from Rafael Laboissierre
in which he requested the zip file. I sent it but
Sourceforge is not allowing zip files in right now. I'm
will try again after renaming the file.

    Hi Maynard:

I am going to assign this officially to Arjen because Tcl/TK is his area of expertise. However, for now I am also going to close this because it is so dated, and we now have a completely new CMake-based build system that works for both Linux and Windows with modern PLplot. If the problem persists for modern PLplot, please reopen this bug report.
