Hello Plone!

Luke Brannon and I are a two man team based in Canada and the US who have
 have been quietly working away in Plone together (full time) since 2011.
Prior to that we both developed in Plone for several years (also full time).

We have experience on both the back and front ends and we deploy heavily
specialised Intranets over Amazon AWS for many clients throughout the
English speaking world. We have always worked remotely and have been
partnered with another 100% remotely operated business -- so we are very
comfortable and successful working this way.

*Our existing projects no longer require our full attention and we have
approximately 40 hours/month available to outsource.*  We are flexible in
how those hours could be scheduled (such as a 2-3 week burst or one day per
week... etc) and because most of our time is already paid for we are quite
reasonably priced.

If you have ever imagined having an experienced Plone Dev as a Part-timer,
or have any other need of Plone developers please let us know and we would
love to talk to you in more detail.

That said, it looks like your vagrant isn't running or accepting network connections.

Setting up Plone 5 on Windows 7
- Downloaded and Installed VirtualBox and Vagrantup according to PloneDev.Vagrant description .
Vagrant version 1.8.6 and VirtualBox 5.1.6 for Windows hosts

Running buildout -c develop.cfg

Ø  "\Program Files\PuTTy"\plink.exe -i insecure_putty_key.ppk -p 2222 vagrant@localhost ./runbin.sh buildout -c default.cfg
Output: FATAL ERROR Network error:Connection refused.

Any tips ae appreciated.

I think Andrea means "an element in the folder", not the folder itself 
as default page. This is a more clear sentence:

"When I select an element as the default view for any folder in the 
site, the element is keep selected. Then, if I view the folder, it keeps 
listing its content
rather then displaying the selected element."

[Plone-Users] Default page not honoured

Hi all

When I select a folder element as the default view for any of my
folders, the element is selected but then, if I go to the folder,
rather then displaying the default element, the folder keeps listing
its content as before.

I say the default element is set because it is stated in
/myfolder/manage_propertiesForm; but, on the other side, if I look at
the folder contents I should say it is not because I don't see the
little red ring close to the default element name and, in fact, the
folder bahaviour seems to confirm it.

All of this happens with any folder but the root folder, which is
still behaving as expected (it means my homepage is OK).

I use the Sunburst theme and no Diazo themes.

While running in debug mode I don't see any error when I select the
default element.

Any idea?

we are just implementing plone.bda.shop and are starting integration of
Paypal Express into it. I found this post and am wondering whether such work
has already been done and if you are prepared to share it :) I couldnt find
the code on github or similar, so I am not fully sure.

No, I dont think there is any Plone5 theme like that.

With diazo, you could do something similar to:

But you will have to change the js (at the bottom) to the same that used at
univie (jumbatron slider (?))

Or you could try collective.easyslider (not sure if it works with Plone 5),
collective.easyslideshow, 
(or you could maybe use : https://github.com/espenmn/medialog.simpleslider
and override the template with jbot)

Unfortunatly, selecting "Themes" on https://plone.org/products/ (a new
Plone 5 Welcome site points me there "available themes from plone.org")
tells me "No results were found.".

Is that really true that nobody has publicly released different themes
than the default theme that comes with Plone 5?

Plone 3.4 does not exist.  Latest Plone 3 version is 3.3.6.
Latest Plone vesion is currently 5.0, so Plone 3 is old.  And it no 
longer officially gets security hotfixes.  But I still have several 
Plone 3 sites running.

If you no longer have the admin password, you can create a new Manager 
account from the command line.  If you normally start your zope site 
with 'bin/zeoclient start' you can add a user with:

bin/zeoclient adduser newusername newpassword

Note that in Plone 3 you get no indication of whether this has succeeded 
or not.  If a user with this name already exists, Plone silently ignores 
the request.

With this account you can then login in the ZMI (Zope Management 
Interface).  You should login at the Zope root, so one level above the 
Plone Site.  You may need to use ssh port forwarding to get there on the 
server.  Also, if you have followed the instructions from an earlier 
Plone security hotfix, you may have disallowed any access to the ZMI 
directly, except through ssh port forwarding.

If your Plone Site is at http://localhost:8080/Plone then you should 
login at http://localhost:8080/manage with your new account.  Then 
navigate to acl_users and there if you wish you can set the password for 
the old account.

Of course if someone really has changed the admin password, he may have 
created other users with Manager rights, so you may want to verify that 
there are no unexpected users.

Plone 3.4 not exists. If you have a non-buildout installation you
probably are using Plone 3.0.
However: you need to create an emercency user, authenticated, the
change password for the admin.

Please note: if you never applied Plone hotfix in latests years, your
site will be still vulnerable to other attack. Changing the password
is not enough.

Have a fear that someone hacked into my plone 3.4 server and changed f.ex. Admin pwd.
Can be an earlier 3.n version, it's been running so smooth for years that I haven't upgraded it or had to admin it in any way.

Any tips on how to set the admin pwd again?
Or should I upgrade it. Any tips.

information may be disclosed without this hotfix. Also (hopefully

I always run buildout while Plone is running.

I also ONLY ever restart the zeoserver if there is a change in zeoserver
version. And, I'll test restarting a client on a test client that isn't
part of the load balancer first before moving to live clients.

The plone client runs in a process that has already loaded all the python
code into memory. Re-running buildout should not have adverse affects as
long as you don't blow away the python packages it is running from(usually
buildout-cache/eggs).

I just followed the instructions for a Buildout-based installation of
Hotfix 20151208. The instructions did not tell me to stop Plone. Instead
they asked me to edit buildout.cfg, run Buildout, and then start Plone.
Instead of just starting Plone (which was still running, of course), I
stopped Plone and then started it.

Now my question is whether I may have caused trouble by running Buildout
while Plone was still running, or whether this work flow is okay.

Another hacky way to do this is to use JavaScript to hide the Title field (maybe use CSS to hide the Title) and set the Title value from that of another field in your custom content type, or you could compute a value too.

I reffered https://plone.org/products/archetypes/documentation/how-to/title-less-type

I have used dexterity for content creation and not able to find the
title widget in code explicitly.
Where to find the content title and summary widget, so that I could do
