When testing replication, I found that the attachments are not replicated.
Using Plomino 1.6.3, from a Plone 3.3 instance to a Plone 4 instance.
Also, could not export (Design, To server) one of the forms:
"UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xc3 in position 17: ordinal not in range(128)"
I have never tried to replicate between 3.3 and 4, I guess there is a problem with the plone 4 part
- replicate from 3.3 to 3.3 ( use the same site, just replicate in a different folder) to see if attachemnts are replicated
- instead of replicating, try to export to an XML file and then import into 4
A correction to my previous post: the replication attempt was from Plomino 1.6.2 @ Plone 3.3.5 to a Plomino 1.6.4 @ Plone 4b5.
Works, all docs replicated ok, except for the file attachements.
"- replicate from 3.3 to 3.3 ( use the same site, just replicate in a different folder) to see if attachemnts are replicated
- instead of replicating, try to export to an XML file and then import into 4"
Both ways did not work, is even worse, only a small portion of the docs is replicated.
Also in Plone 3.3, could not export design:

UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec can't encode character u'\xed' in position 16: ordinal not in range(128)
here is a temporary fix:
go in python24/lib/python2.4 (must be the python used for your Zope server)
and edit site.py, remplace:
encoding = "ascii"
encoding = "utf-8"
then you should be aboe to export your design, and send it to me so I can search where the unicode error comes from
