./configure always replies : configure: error: can not find install-sh or install.sh in . ./.. ./../.. ...for exposer, ttt3d and plib_examples. plib itself appears to have installed properly. Little more update about load/save ssg.. I've been trying to find out where problem relies on.. Here's another test. 1) make sphere with 10,000 facets. (divided in 100 x 100 around axis & height) 2) save it as wavefront OBJ. 3) load with ssgLoadOBJ --> fine. 4) save it with ssgSaveOBJ --> output OBJ size gets bigger than original, but no error. 5) load output OBJ with ssgLoadOBJ --> OBJ is load, but polys are broken. (i see only half of the sphere) 6) load output OBJ with 3D application --> OBJ is load, but polys are broken. (polys are partially lost) Results: even ssgLoad can NOT read what ssgSave saved. I'm not complaining, since the source is open, everyone (include me) can have oppotunity to fix it. But unfortunally, I do not familiar with programing enough to do that. to Paolo: Thank you for your suggestion. We used to use good old 'Interchange' for conversion. But thoese two you recommended seems prettier. I will take a look of them! :) Thanks, -kiko |

configure.in uses: AC_PREFIX_DEFAULT(/usr) which I think is a really bad idea since "standard" is not setting it normally resulting in /usr/local perhaps bad explanation but i guess you know what I want to say greetings karme PS: i am not subscribed to the ML |

Thank you for replying Wolfam! > I see two possible reasons: > > 1) You have hierarchienodes with more than 16k (or was it 32k?) > vertices. This is not supported and IIRC also not caught. The original object is about 1.6Mbyte, but converted OBJ file gets 15M+ (then seg fault). Though, this behavior is not seeing in DXF format (still crash). > Do you use PPE to convert? Do you have a way to check the number of > hiernodes after loading? What does the hierarchie of the original > object look like? Actually I was trying to use PPE at first. Becuase the PPE's web page says works good as a converter. However, I was not able to compile it, and author told me it's not supported anymore. (He was nicely introduced me about PLIB with how it'll work) So right now, I don't have a way to access to see what kind of structure this object have. I'll check it under windows as soon as the machine gets free (running as linux render node right now, have to wait 5-6 days more :( ). Do you know any other method I could access to this object under linux enviroment? http://www.turbosquid.com/HTMLClient/FullPreview/FullPreview.cfm/ID/141873/Action/FullPreview This is the one of object I was using for the test. You need to register to the site (free, but still.. ), in order to download it. If this load/save object works as expected. That will be adding a big advantage to this really attractive library ! I will inform you as soon as I get more information about the model. Thanks! -kiko |

I see two possible reasons: 1) You have hierarchienodes with more than 16k (or was it 32k?) vertices. This is not supported and IIRC also not caught. 2) It seems there is a problem with most or even all loaders that break up objects into subobjects of 1-2 traingle size. This means you will have over 50000 hierachienodes, leading to HUGE output files. I have had outputfiles over 1 GB!=20 Do you use PPE to convert? Do you have a way to check the number of hiernodes after loading? What does the hierarchie of the original object look like? Bye bye, Wolfram. |

Hi all, I'm trying to save an object by using ssgSaveOBJ. It works for very-low polygons, but when it comes to higher poly counts (say 90,000 polys), Program core dumped. Tried to save as other format such as DXF, but same results. Object is loaded by ssgLoad3ds (.3ds format). Since I'm intending to use this as an object converter, importing object from other format is not really an option. I know since PLIB is aiming for game development. so its not supposed to handle much large models/scenes. but i wonder if there's any easy workaround or if this is a known limitation of PLIB ? Thanks in advance! -kiko ## I changed following line in /plib_examples-1.6.1/src/ssg/load_save/save.cxx Line 119: /* ssgSaveSSG ( "data/tuxedo.ssg", object ) ; */original ssgSaveOBJ ( "data/out.obj", object ) ; // modified ## |

Hey Gang, I'm running the "Hello World" program for PUI with a slight modification (I've added a puInput object). The program compiles and runs but when I select the puInput object and type away nothing shows up (the cursor is present but doesn't move). Here's my modified code from the "Hello World" program (everything else is identical to the original program): ---------------------------------------------------- puOneShot *b = new puOneShot ( 50, 50, 200, 90 ) ; puInput *puIn = new puInput(50, 170, 200, 200); b -> setLegend ( "Say Hello" ) ; b -> setCallback ( button_cb ) ; puIn->acceptInput(); glutMainLoop () ; ---------------------------------------------------- Thanks in advace, -Fabricio __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
