[Plib-users] error: could not find working GLUT library

I have looked over the past messages on this mailin list. And found the 
answer to my first problem.. But now it still says its wrong.

checking for glutGetModifiers in -lglut... no
configure: error: could not find working GLUT library

./configure --with-GL=/usr/X11R6/lib

^ that is how I run it... I have Mandrake 8.2 pleeease help
