Hey Paolo, that did the trick!  Now if only I can figure out why
my Sidewinder 3D Pro works under NT but is reported as disconnected
under 98 while my Sidewinder Precision Pro works just ducky under
98 but is invisible under NT, I'll be just a monocle short of being
an Open Source James Bond villain (already have the temperamental
white cat) :-).
