Please let me know if it was not. Excuse me for jumping into the discussion as a non-PLIB-developer: Wouldn't it be an option to use SF.net's SVN service instead of a private SVN server? They offer automated conversions of the existing CVS tree to SVN which would keep the project's history, and you wouldn't have to worry about OS upgrades, backups and the like.
