I was wondering if anyone could tell me the difference between "Organizational Unit" and "Role" when it comes to populating the PARTICIPANT_TYPE column of WF_PARTICIPANTS. And what would the typical use of "Organizational Unit" be.
Are they handled differently by PLFLOW?

It's been a while since I read them, but I'm pretty sure this is well explained in one of the wfmc pdf's that is linked to on the homepage of plflow.

The only thing I'd like to add to the wfmc docs is: WORKITEM = ACTIVITY INSTANCE!! I remember it took me a while to realize that: at first I thought that maybe what they meant with a workitem was piece of work of an activity instance. I was too lazy too implement that and I also thought: I don't need to partition activity instances into smaller pieces. Later I somehow realized workitem and activity instance are synonymous :-)

      Thanks Yeb.
I'll look into this. Guess I'll just have to check the API's to find out whether they are handled differently by plflow...
