I just used the guide to checkout the latest version of player from the CVS
repository, but it's missing a configure file. The readme and install files
still say to use ./configure to set it up, so I'm not sure whether the
install method has changed or the file is just missing. I don't think I
entered the checkout command wrong. This is what I used:

As explained here:
you must first run 'autoreconf -i -s' when working with a CVS checkout.
