I gave up open embedded...
I reflashed gumstix with build root and compiled player binary.
It worked fine.

I have built a player binary for gumstix build root. I'm very new to
buildroot myself so this may be imperfect, but it should at least get you
started. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to play with gumstix much
