Long-time readers of this list might just remember that, in November
2006, I asked whether someone had written a Player driver for
VolksBot robots (www.volksbot.de) using the older TMC200 motor
controller. No-one had, so I did the job myself.
Recently, I had an opportunity to revisit the code that I wrote on
that occasion, and this time I'm sending the results to this
mailing list---if only to serve as an archive record.
We at the Centre for Autonomous Systems, School of Computer Science
and Engineering at the University of New South Wales are still
using Player/Stage 2.0, so this driver, tmc200, uses that
interface. I'm sure someone can update it for Player 3.0, if so
Hopefully, this code will prove useful for others using the older
TMC200-based VolksBot models as a robotics platform.
