I'm currently working on putting together a good ER1 (Evolution
Robotics' little robot) driver for Player 2.0.x. The Player 1.6.5
works great at what it does, but it doesn't do everything the robot
can support, and Evo is being extremely reticent about their
datasheets. I'm not in much of a mood to reverse-engineer everything
when there's another alternative. So...
Does anyone have any driver or sample code for the ER1? Specifically
for things like the gripper arm, proximity sensor, etc... the stuff
that isn't supported in 1.6.5, as well as any better ways of
performing existing functions (better odometry tracker, anyone?).
Anything you have would be appreciated, as I'm trying to make a
relatively *complete* ER1 driver.
Looking through the archives, I see that Gal Kaminka has code for the
IR and gripper, though I couldn't find a link to it. There's probably
more of you, too, who just haven't spoken up yet :-) So please, if
you have anything and there's no reason you can't share it, do so;
I'll do my best to incorporate it.
