[PlayerStage-Gazebo] Fudge Factor From: - 2006-06-26 13:12:34 ```Hi all, I have the problem described in section '7.5.1. Parameter Functions' next to dParamFudgeFactor. The current joint stop/motor implementation has a small problem: when the joint is at one stop and the motor is set to move it away from the stop, too much force may be applied for one time step, causing a ``jumping'' motion. This fudge factor is used to scale this excess force. It should have a value between zero and one (the default value). If the jumping motion is too visible in a joint, the value can be reduced. Making this value too small can prevent the motor from being able to move the joint away from a stop. So, I changed this value for the joints I saw 'jumping', but I didn't notice any difference (even not when setting to 0 or near-0). Is there somebody who had the same problem? or somebody who can tell what else I should do...? tnx in advance, Andy ```

If so, maybe you can send me your model code, and a simple test program. My general strategy is to play around with ODE values until it works. -nate On 6/26/06, andy@... wrote: > Hi all, > > I have the problem described in section '7.5.1.
