Subject: the joys of .cvsignore
i've just added a bunch of .cvsignore files to Player. each file specifies
a file (or pattern) that CVS should ignore when doing update/commit/etc.
for details on how it works, see:
in each directory, i've added a .cvsignore file that ignores 'Makefile',
'Makefile.in', specific executables, and various other things (e.g., for
pyplayerc, ignore 'build').
in addition to the per-directory .cvsignore files, i've added a
repository-wide CVSROOT/cvsignore with a single entry: '.deps'. thus
the Autotools-generated dependency directories will always be ignored.
the upshot of all this is that when you do a update/commit, you should see
no (or very few) lines of the form:
much cleaner, and easier to notice bugs, like a file that you forgot to
let me know if i missed any files or if i'm ignoring too much.
p.s. might be a good idea to do the same for Stage.
