I'm working to add support to the urglaser driver for the TOP-URG, Hokuyo's latest and greatest laser. Documentation is scarce, so there's some guesswork involved. I've got it pretty much working now, but with several hacks. Two notes: - I don't think that I broke support for older Hokuyo units, but I don't have any handy to test with. If you see trouble with the urglaser driver on your lasers, please let me know. - If you happen to have a TOP-URG lying around, and are willing to try it with the urglaser driver, please let me know how it goes. brian. |

I'm hoping to get my hands on one at work so I can expand the Gearbox URG library's support (which is usable via Player, by the way, the driver is called "urg_nz" and provides a ranger device). If I manage to get one, I'll give it a go. Meanwhile I do have a plain old URG I can try it on, but not till I get back to work in about a week and a half. Geoff |

Hi!, I tried the hokuyo URG-04LX driver from the latest svn trunk checkout version from 1 hour ago, but is not working. Checking the code there is a line missing from the old code were a resolution parameter is set. A function member called GetSensorConfig needed this parameter to generate all the rest of the parameters (like max, min, and other stuff), so without the resolution the rest of the parameters were having garbage. I added this line of code and it works now. I send a patch to sourceforge with this fixed. Please try to check if this breaks the behavior of some other lasers, but I got the notion from reading the code a bit, that is ok. thanks, Federico Ruiz I.A.S Informatik IX TU Muenchen On Thu, Mar 06, 2008 at 06:03:47PM -0800, Brian Gerkey wrote: > I'm working to add support to the urglaser driver for the TOP-URG, > Hokuyo's latest and greatest laser.
