Thanks, I was working through too many issues to see the obvious.  Now that I have a deeper understanding of the dependencies, I probably will be able to fix it.  I'll try to close the loop on this when I have it all working.

When you install Player from source, it will automatically install the
headers and libraries that are normally included in the "player-devel"
package.  What errors are you seeing?

I managed to build some Player packages a while ago for fedora 12
arm[1], I'm not sure if they'll work with Fedora 13 or not.
