If you create a patch that adds the driver to the SVN trunk version of player and submit it to the patch tracker then this will get incorperated in the near future when one of the developer team gets time.

Would be great to see another algorithm in there, let us know if you have any trouble.

Hello,

   Joey Durham and I have implemented the Smooth
   ND obstacle avoidance driver in Player (for
   details on the algorithm, see
   http://hemotion.mee.ucsb.edu/pdf/2008a-db.pdf).

   I've tested it both in Stage and on a robot
   (the Erratic) and, since it works well, I was
   thinking to submit it to the Player/Stage project.

   Could you please tell me how to do that? I could not
   find this information in the mailing list.
